According to the state board of elections, Democrats outnumber Republicans by about 70,000 active voters in Nassau County. However, data from the Nassau County Board of Elections shows just under 5,000 more Republicans turned out during early voting this year. It's a trend that wasn't seen in 2021 and 2023.

Another key race is Anne Donnelly’s bid for reelection as Nassau district attorney. She is up against career prosecutor Nicole Aloise. Donnelly was leading 140,992 votes to Aloise's 114,047 overnight.

The supervisor race was a bit tighter in Hempstead. John Ferretti was leading Joe Scianablo by about 10,000 votes at 12:30 a.m. with 81% of precincts reporting.
