A man is facing charges for his alleged role in a scam that stole $35,600 from an 80-year-old Manhasset resident, according to police.

Authorities say the victim received a message on his phone claiming that he owed money to the Treasury Department.

Several people went to his home to collect the cash over the course of two days last week.

The victim then realized he was being scammed and called 911.

Police say Yang Yang Wen, of Queens, was arrested on Oct. 18 and arraigned in Hempstead the following day.
