Woman seriously hurt, 4 others injured in Hauppauge scooter crash

A woman operating a scooter was seriously injured in a crash involving multiple vehicles.

Mariana Oropeza Seijas, 23, was ejected from her scooter when she collided with a car, Suffolk police say.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the collision on Washington Avenue in Hauppauge, Monday afternoon.

Seijas was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Four other people, including one teen, also suffered minor injuries.
