VIDEO: Hurricane Erin brings coastal flooding to Long Island

Dozens of people are closely watching how the waves from Hurricane Erin are affecting the shoreline.

In Montauk, many people say they are nervous because the area has gone through several beach restorations. There is no word on whether swimming will be prohibited today in the area.

In East Hampton, swimming is going to be off limits this morning at all town beaches. The supervisor of East Hampton told News 12 Thursday night she believes all of the town "dodged a bullet."

Meanwhile in Hampton Bays, the ocean water surged past the beach and pushed past the cars that had been parked nearby.

Dune Road in Westhampton Beach was completely submerged during high tide Thursday night.

In Babylon, there was some street flooding along the South Shore in low-lying areas and on Fire Island the ocean came up to the walkways.
