Police: 2 people, including a teen, seriously injured in Central Islip shooting

Two people were shot in an apartment complex in Suffolk County.
It all began when two groups of people got into a physical fight near the pool at the Hawthorne Living apartment complex around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to police.
Police say someone in the group began firing a gun and a 16-year-old boy and a 25-year-old bystander were shot. The two victims were transported to hospitals with serious injuries, according to police.
No arrests have been made at this time. Police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to give them a call.
