After historic floods in August, the Smithtown Library is reopening its doors with limited access.

The doors open to the public at 9:30 a.m.

The public will have full access to the first floor. However, the basement and second floor remain closed.

The library’s basement was ruined after floodwaters burst through the bottom floor, destroying equipment, books, and more.

The facility's basement floor is still under construction, and library officials hope to open that access sometime in 2026.
