The cleanup continued on Monday after a weekend boat fire at the Imperial Yacht Club in New Rochelle destroyed five vessels and sent two people to the hospital.

Crews were spotted on barge trying to salvage another vessel that burned in the boat fire on Monday.

Officials from the New Rochelle Fire Department said they were called in to battle the boat fire at the yacht club early Saturday morning.

When units arrived, they determined it was better to attack the fire from Town Dock Road.

It took them around two hours to put the fire out.

Five boats were destroyed.

Officials said a mother and child, who were on one of the boats, were sent to the hospital for treatment.

While their condition is unknown at the time, News 12 learned that workers were able to clear the burnt vessel that blocked the navigation of the channel on Sunday.

Officials said fuel did spill into the water as a result of the fire.

The harbormaster said most of it evaporated already and the rest of it has been cleaned up.
