Long Island’s last duck farm will soon be closing its door for now.

Crescent Duck Farm is laying off 45 employees next Friday because there is no work at this time, according to the farm's owner.

However, he says they were able to sanitize and salvage some eggs after a bird flu outbreak last month.

There is no word yet on when the farm will reopen.
