East Rockaway father says he was banned from son's school for breaking up fight during game

East Rockaway High School says it investigated the matter and has taken "appropriated actions to address it."

An East Rockaway father says he has been banned from his son's school after he helped break up a fight during a basketball game.

The man, who did not want to be identified, says it happened at East Rockaway High School on Jan. 16 during a game against Evergreen Charter School.

The father says he stepped in to stop a player involved in the fight.

Two days later, he says he received a letter saying he had been banned from the school.

Police tell News 12 they were called to the school for a fight, but that it was over by the time officers got there. No one was arrested.

East Rockaway High School says it investigated the matter and has taken "appropriated actions to address it."

Evergreen Charter School told News 12 it has no comment on the incident.
