Snowman Hunt brings merriment and business to Rockville Centre
The ninth annual Snowman Hunt in Rockville Centre is underway.

Nearly 30 businesses are participating in "The Snowman Hunt" in Rockville Centre.
The event was made possible by the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce.
Kids 12 and under are encouraged to find the hidden snowman at each business. When they find at least 10, they're entered to win a raffle for a gift certificate.
Businesses include Maple Lanes, Polka Dot Pound Cake and Valenti Pharmacy.
Lisa Umansky came up with the idea for the hunt.
She's the owner of Polka Dot Pound Cake and past president of the Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce.
She said she knew that shopping habits were changing, and that this was a way to bring people back into the community.
It's fun for the family and simultaneously benefits local businesses.
