Suffolk and state police say missing Smithtown teen Vianna Dettling, 18, has been located and is safe.

Family members reported her missing Thursday. She had been last seen around 3 a.m. Thursday getting into a white sedan in front of Forest Brook Elementary School on Lilac Lane in Smithtown.

State police had activated a missing vulnerable adult alert for Dettling. According to New York State Division of Criminal Services, a missing vulnerable adult alert is activated when someone over 18 who has a cognitive disorder, brain injury or mental disability is reported missing and is at risk of being harmed.
