A police vehicle was struck on Route 109 by a vehicle in Lindenhurst Friday afternoon, police say.

It happened at around 3:15 p.m. when officers from Suffolk County Police Department's First Precinct were responding to a 911 call.

The officer and civilian were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of minor injuries.
