The Nassau Planning Commission has voted unanimously to hand over control of the Nassau HUB to Last Vegas Sands.

Las Vegas Sands intends to build a $4 billion casino and resort on the property.

Members of the "Say No to the Casino" Civic Association continue to rally against the proposal saying it would not benefit the county in the long run.

"We know that this is going to leave a trail of damage to families, a trail of damage to households that all gambling operations do by virtue of problem gambling and the problems that it causes, we're going to be paying those bills for years to come," said George Krug of the "Say No To The Casino Civic Association."

The lease heads to the rules committee for a vote on Monday.
