Water main repairs begin in Paterson; residents may experience low pressure

Repairs will be made to water mains in several wards that may cause low pressure and/or discolored water.

Some residents in Passaic County dealt with low water pressure on Monday due to water main repairs.

Passaic Valley Water crews began repairs on a series of water mains in Paterson in its efforts to maintain and improve current infrastructure.

Repairs will be made to water mains in several wards that may cause low pressure and/or discolored water in the following areas:

  • First Ward (areas surrounding Northside, including Temple Street)

  • Third Ward (areas surrounding 5th Avenue and River Street)

  • Fourth Ward (areas surrounding Lafayette Street, Broadway, Madison Avenue)

  • Fifth Ward (areas surrounding Park Avenue and East 18th Street)

Repairs are anticipated to be completed in about two weeks. Customers experiencing discoloration are encouraged to run their cold taps until the water is clear.
