Freeport crash leaves 60-year-old woman critically injured

A 22-year-old motorcyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon in Commack, Suffolk police say.

According to police, the collision occurred around 4:15 p.m. while the driver of a Volkswagen was turning into a parking lot.

It closed Commack Road to Larkfield Road while police investigated the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately clear. The victim’s name has not been released.
