Former NYPD officer from Westbury has home renovated by Tunnels to Towers Foundation
Mike McCutchan served 20 years as an officer with the NYPD and another 21 as a detective with the Attorney General's Office. He was a first responder on 9/11 and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

The Tunnels to Towers Foundation is paying for the renovation of a former Westbury officer's home.
Mike McCutchan served 20 years as an officer with the NYPD and another 21 as a detective with the Attorney General's Office. He was a first responder on 9/11 and in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
Two years ago, McCutchan stopped to help a stranded driver on the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge when he was hit by a box truck and thrown 20 feet. He broke bones all over his body, was blinded in his right eye and lost his left leg.
The nonprofit dedicated to helping first responders and veterans stepped in to pay for McCutchan's mortgage when he was no longer able to work. The Tunnels to Towers Foundation also renovated and redesigned the home to make it wheelchair accessible.
