Sag Harbor's police chief has been suspended without pay, according to the village's mayor.

The mayor accuses Chief Austin McGuire of insubordinate and unprofessional behavior after he lashed out at the mayor in public. The mayor said the chief curses at him at one point.

He also accused McGuire of appearing drunk public, both on- and off-duty.

The suspension, which will go on for at least 30 days, is effective immediately.
