Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says there will be a chance for rain late Friday and Sunday.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: 

-Meteorological Winter begins Friday

-Temperatures are on the rise into the weekend with highs near 50 degrees.

-A batch of showers will arrive after 4 p.m. Friday, ending by 10 p.m.

-Dry weather for Saturday before showers return on Sunday but early next week is trending drier.

OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy and chilly with lows near 37 degrees. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 6:57

FRIDAY: Some morning sun gives way to increasing clouds. Good chance for rain after 4pm and lasting through the evening. Mild with highs near 52. Rain ends with partly cloudy skies overnight. Lows near 40. Sunset: 4:25

SATURDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy. Slight chance for a brief shower. Highs near 54. Lows near 42.

SUNDAY: Cloudy with a few light showers during the morning then again during the late afternoon and evening. Highs near 53. Cloudy with showers likely at night. Lows near 38.
