'Unity in the Community' event connects Nassau law enforcement with people they serve

Garden City students serenaded 15 local veterans Wednesday at Stewart School.

One of the veterans was 96-year-old World War II veteran Ed Muller, who was a former teacher at the school.

The participating students read thank you letters and performed songs for the guests.

Following the assembly, the veterans visited the classrooms to speak with the students.
