Police: Pedestrian struck by 2 cars killed in North Amityville

Detectives say one of the drivers fled the scene.

A pedestrian was killed in North Amityville Thursday when he was hit by two cars, police say.

Detectives say one of the drivers fled the scene.

News 12 is told the person was in the crosswalk on Sunrise Highway near 35th Street when they were hit at around 7 p.m.

The victim was taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The driver of the car that did stop was also taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
