Jewish children in Woodmere make care packages for children in Israel
Around 300 children in Israel will get backpacks filled with coloring books, crayons, toys, candy and other items, thanks to the generosity of some young Long Islanders.

Children at the Aish Kodesh synagogue in Woodmere stuffed backpacks filled with crayons, coloring books, toys and candy. The care packages are bound for Israeli children whose lives have been uprooted by the horrors of war.
Approximately 300 backpacks are bound for southern Israel near the border with Gaza. They will personally be delivered by the event organizer, Avi Esses, with the help of the synagogue’s president.
The children say they are sending he care packages to show support and solidarity with the children of Israel.
The care packages will be heading to Israel Wednesday night.
