Long Islanders do their part to give back to those suffering in Israel

Some Long Islanders are stepping up to help the people affected by the war between Israel and Hamas.
Shuka Ma, a cashier at Shop Delight in Great Neck, donated her week's paycheck to help those dealing with crisis in Israel.
Her manager, Eddy Yakuvov, says he was shocked when she handed him an envelope with $600 in it.
"She comes to me and says, 'This is for your country,'" Yakuvov says.
The manager says he started crying at his employee's gesture.
Ma supports her husband and three children but says donating her paycheck is the right thing to do.
"Money is not the most important thing - we need God's mercy," Ma says.
Meanwhile, Steve Pitonza with Play It Again Sports in Oceanside, donated two dozen headlamps to a customer sending a care package to Israel.
