The granddaughter of people who were killed in the Holocaust is begging for peace in Israel.

Berta Weinstein, from Merrick, says she is extremely concerned for her extended family in Israel.

She says some of them are missing, and others are fleeing to bomb shelters, not knowing if they will be targeted.

"My heart is with Israel, I may not live there, but my family lives there," said Weinstein.

The pain of antisemitism is all too real for Weinstein - her grandparents were killed by the Nazi's in World War II and her uncle was killed in the War of 1948.

Weinstein’s parents also fought in the Israeli Army in the War of 1948 before coming to the United States.

Weinstein says, “We fight antisemitism all the time, since the beginning of time, and it just doesn't seem to end.”

Weinstein, who says she is proud of her heritage and taking a stand with others is not afraid to fight for peace.

She is begging for the killings to stop in Israel and doing her part on Long Island to encourage others to support the Jewish people.
