The now-closed Kumo Japanese Steakhouse in Stony Brook has been hit with at least a dozen lawsuits from customers.
At least nine suits were filed this week against the restaurant and its parent company on behalf of a teen dance team whose members fell sick after eating at the restaurant two weeks ago.
Three other suits were filed earlier this month.
The Health Department says the restaurant mishandled and improperly stored cooked rice – causing 28 people to get food poisoning,
