Cooler, drier weather for Long Island Thursday, rough surf from Lee this weekend

NOW: A few showers and storms will linger through 8pm before skies clear with drier and cooler weather tonight. Much more comfortable weather is ahead into the weekend.
NEXT: A small craft advisory, high surf advisory, and high risk of rip currents is in effect through Saturday as Hurricane Lee will past east of Long Island Friday into Saturday. Roughest conditions on the water will be Friday into Saturday morning. Skies will be mostly sunny with some extra clouds and the chance of a few showers around the East End on Saturday. It will also be breezy with northerly winds increasing 20 to 30 mph by Saturday.

We continue to monitor Lee's track for potential impacts. The storm still looks well offshore with no major direct impact. Coastal impacts are possible - including rip currents and possible beach erosion. Watch the video below for more:
