A Bay Shore man is behind bars after allegedly driving drunk and crashing his car with his two young kids in the vehicle.

Officers say Peters Aiyeybomwan, 43, was driving on Express Drive North around 9 p.m. Friday in Hauppauge when he crashed into a guardrail, overturning his vehicle.

Police say that his 4-year-old and 6-year-old sons were in the car at the time. They suffered minor injuries.

Aiyeybomwan has been charged with DWI in violation of Leandra’s Law, among other charges. The law establishes a new penalty for someone alleged to have been driving intoxicated with a child in the car.
