Three families were displaced by a fire that ripped through an apartment complex Wednesday in Hauppauge, fire officials say.
Video from Chopper 12 captured the remains of part of the complex called Willow Wood.
The emergency call came in at 11:42 a.m.
Fire officials say two homes were destroyed by the fire and a third home on Plantation Drive has severe smoke damage.
They say the 14 fire units got the fire under control in about an hour.
Neighbors praised firefighters' quick response and say they are focusing on helping everyone who was displaced.

Neighbors at the scene tell News 12 three dogs were rescued. They say one dog named Zoey is missing. Zoey was last seen on Tarry Road.
The American Red Cross tells News 12 it is assisting the families impacted by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
