Police: Man killed in North Lawrence hit-and-run
According to police, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling on Rockaway Turnpike Thursday night.

Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver that fatally struck a pedestrian in North Lawrence.
According to police, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle traveling on Rockaway Turnpike in the vicinity of East Avenue around 11:19 p.m. Wednesday.
The vehicle fled the scene.
The male victim suffered severe trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Rockaway Turnpike was closed this morning but has since reopened.
Detective are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
