The Town of Oyster Bay shut down the Exotic Vape Shop in Syosset Tuesday for allegedly violating a temporary restraining order to not open or do business.

The town filled a lawsuit against the business in June, alleging that illegal activity was taking place inside the store.

Court documents show multiple arrests of store employees were made for allegedly selling THC gummies and edibles illegally inside the store.

According to an arrest report in those documents, two employees were arrested within two days of each other in May 2022. Both were allegedly selling THC-laced edibles inside the store.

Following the second arrest, the report says that Nassau County police executed a search warrant and found more than 10 pounds of cannabis inside the store located on Jackson Avenue.

The Town of Oyster Bay released a statement to News 12 that it "will continue to protect our neighborhoods from illicit, unregulated activities that violate the law and put public health at risk."

Some residents say the business did not bother them, while others say they are glad the town took action.

An employee said he didn't speak English as he left the store early Tuesday.

The owner of the store has been ordered to appear in Nassau County Supreme Court on Aug. 3.
