The victim was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment. He is expected to be OK.

Quogue police responded to a call about an injured beachgoer at the Quogue Village Beach.

Police say a 47-year-old man was swimming in chest-deep water when he was bitten. A shark was not physically observed, however, officials say the bite was from a larger marine animal. He suffered several lacerations to his right knee.

He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
