Officials: Pair of 15-year-olds bitten by marine life in separate incidents at LI beaches
A male surfer was bitten by a shark at Kismet Beach on Fire Island and a female was treated for three small puncture wounds at Robert Moses State Park.

Two teenagers were bitten by marine life Monday in Long Island waters, officials say.
The first incident happened at around 1:45 p.m. when a 15-year-old female was treated for three small puncture wounds on her left leg by state park EMTs at Robert Moses State Park, state park officials say. The victim was then released to her parents.
A drone was immediately deployed but officials were not able to detect any dangerous marine life.
Police say a 15-year-old male surfer was bitten by a shark at Kismet Beach on Fire Island at around 5:20 p.m.
They say that victim swam to shore, and a Good Samaritan provided medical assistance until officers responded and continued the care.
Authorities say that he was bitten on the left heel and toes, but they were intact.
The male victim was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
Increased drone patrols will be in place on Tuesday at Robert Moses and Jones Beach State Parks.
The Town of Islip also says as a precaution, it will install shark warning signs Tuesday on all lifeguard chairs.
