Monuments for American veterans with disabilities, those who served in Middle East added to Memorial Park
Organizers say this is Long Island's first memorial honoring the nation's recent wars.

Two new monuments were unveiled Sunday at Eisenhower Park to honor the legacies of veterans.
One of the new monuments was dedicated to American veterans with disabilities and the other monument was dedicated to those who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars like Operation Desert Storm through Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom - a period of 30 years.
"It's really nice to see that the sacrifices that were made by my fallen brothers and sisters over the multiple times over there... it's been recognized, and we take it very seriously to honor those that have fallen before us," said veteran Steven Seidenstein.
"We dedicate this monument to all those who served and came back less than 100% and for those who didn't come back at all," said Howard Kalachman, commander at Post 145 and member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Organizers said this is Long Island's first memorial honoring the nation's recent wars.
The monuments join other memorials in Memorial Park that honor veterans from the World Wars, the Vietnam War and others.
