Missing boater's family, Suffolk police continue search on Great South Bay

A missing boater's family is continuing a search for their loved one on the Great South Bay Tuesday after some of his personal belongings were found in the water.
According to his family, 28-year-old James Jaronczyk's sunglasses were pulled from the water not far from where his boat crashed.
The Massapequa resident's boat crashed when it hit a wave on the Great South Bay at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. He has now been missing for over 48 hours.
Suffolk County police boats used sonar and dive teams while family and friends also searched with their own boats.
Jaronczk's family says they understand the chances of him being found alive are getting smaller but are still hoping for a miracle.
"He could have pulled himself up on an island or a beach anywhere," said Joe Jaronczyk, the missing boater's father. "You want a miracle, but reality is reality too. The longer it goes on the less likely it is he will be alive. That is why we need people here now."
The Coast Guard suspended their search for James Jaronczyk at 8 p.m. Monday, but the Suffolk County Police Department is still searching.
The family says they will not give up until he is found.
