State police find loaded gun during traffic stop on LIE

Suffolk County police are searching for a man accused of shooting two people in Mastic Beach late last night.

Officers responded to the area of 96 Woodside Rd. between Gooseberry Road and Forest Road West around 10 p.m. Monday.

According to investigators, a group of people was arguing in front of the home when a man pulled out a handgun and fired several shots into the crowd, striking two people.

Both victims, a 25-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect fled the scene, according to police.

The investigation and search for the suspect are ongoing.
