Two police officers were injured following a rap star's visit to the Nautical Mile.
News 12 is told rapper 50 Cent was at Bracco's Clam and Oyster Bar in Freeport for an event Saturday night.
Freeport Mayor Robert Kennedy says extra police were on hand for crowd control but two officers wound up getting hurt. He says additional officers needed to be called to the scene.
"People were fighting in the street for no reason," says Derek Houdek, manager of nearby Otto's Sea Grill.
The owner of Bracco's says the incident was not out of the ordinary.
"We do all of the business. They always complain because they don't do the business we do, that's why they complain. We're the number one place in New York," Jerry Bracco says.
The extent of the officers' injuries is unknown at this time.
