The Babylon Fire Department responded to a call for two homes on fire on Cottage Walk, off of Ocean Parkway in Babylon. 

The area is known as Oak Island and has just 12 homes in the community. 

Fire officials say the call to 911 came just before 10 a.m. Crews were forced to use a hover boat to get to the fire since part of the bay was frozen. 

Joe Williams, of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services, says the two homes were destroyed.
