The FDNY said a two-alarm fire ripped through a home in Bay Ridge Thursday.

Investigators said the fire broke out in the basement and spread to the roof of the two-story home at 7408 6th Ave. near 74th Street.

The FDNY said the fire started just before 11:45 a.m., and it took more than 100 first responders a little over an hour to get it under control.

Citizen app video showed heavy smoke and flames shooting from the roof of the building.

Wayne, who only gave his first name and said he is the homeowner’s brother, told News 12 that his brother owned the home for more than 30 years and recently lost his wife.

“Many people say, ‘Hey, there’s a place in heaven for him,'” said Wayne. “He’s gone through a lot in the last couple of months.”

The Red Cross said five people were displaced.

The FDNY said no one was injured, and a neighbor told News 12 that the family was able to get a dog out safely.
