In a few weeks, the world's best golfers will hit the Bethpage Black Golf Course again to show off their skills.
Bethpage Black Golf Course's director of golf has an overview of Hole #16.
The 16th hole is downhill par-4, so much so that the fairway is 60 feet below the tee box. But with wind in the golfer’s face, the hole really isn’t shortened at all.
This is a hard fairway to hit because the dog leg sits right in the landing area. On top of that, the rough on the side of the fairway is exceptionally deep.
The second shot is no gimme because the green is very narrow, its sloped left to right and also back to front. Plus, the front of the green is surrounded by bunkers that are very deep.
Birdies will not be plentiful on this hole.
