17-year-old boy fatally stabbed in Parkchester

Police say Jonathan Melo was found stabbed in the back around 4:30 p.m. on Beach Avenue.

A 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in Parkchester Wednesday, and police are trying to track down the person who did it.

Police say Jonathan Melo was found stabbed in the back around 4:30 p.m. on Beach Avenue.

When police arrived on the scene, they say they found Melo.

Melo was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but couldn't be saved.

Police say they were able to question him, but he was not cooperative.

It is not clear what led to this stabbing. Melo lived not too far from where he was stabbed in Soundview.
