A guide released on Thursday showed 13 hospitals on Long Island received an “A” grade regarding its safety for patients.
The guide -- published by the Leapfrog Group – had these facilities graded at the top:
Mather Hospital, Syosset Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, St. Catherine of Siena Hospital, Plainview Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Huntington Hospital, Glen Cove Hospital, St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, South Shore Hospital and NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island.
North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish-Valley Stream, Mount Sinai South Nassau and Peconic Bay Medical Center all received "B" grades.
