Five different infrastructure projects in the Town of North Hempstead are getting $10 million in funding.
The funding is going toward improvements to Westbury Avenue's sidewalks, Sunset Park, Manhasset's public sewer system, small businesses on Plandome Road and the rehabilitation of a little league field in Carle Place.
"For too long these have taken a back seat to other competing interests and have sometimes been neglected to the state almost falling into disrepair," says North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer Desena.
The initiative also comes with Nassau County's commitment to repave over Westbury Avenue roadways.
