A multicar collision left one person dead and another hurt Saturday night in Coram, according to police.

Authorities say it occurred just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of County Road 83 and Route 112.

The victim was driving a 2009 Chevy Malibu when a Jeep crashed into her, pushing her vehicle into two other cars.

Police say the woman driving the Chevy was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Another driver involved was hospitalized with minor injuries.
