One person is dead after an out-of-control car slammed into an office building in Hauppauge early this morning, News 12 has learned.

Peter Fedden, of Commack, was driving on Commerce Drive when authorities say he failed to stop at an intersection and crashed into a building. Fedden was the owner of the popular Commack Breakfast.

The crash happened on Adams Boulevard just after midnight, leaving a large hole in the Advantage Marketing building.

Officials say Fedden was also involved in another accident on New Highway, just one hour before he crashed into the building. A witness says police checked over Fedden on the scene, before driving him to his house in Commack.

Police say it is still unclear what caused Fedden to crash into the building. Eyewitnesses tell News 12 they saw Fedden driving at least 100 mph.

The 29-year-old was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
