There's a call to limit helicopter noise in Centre Island, but it may not apply to the Island's most famous resident -- Billy Joel.
Village officials tell Newsday they are considering a proposal to ban daily helicopter takeoffs and landings.
If approved, the law would still permit three existing personal helipads, including one on Joel's property.
However, there would be limits on the number of flights allowed each month.
A hearing on the subject is scheduled for next month.
