A good Samaritan rescued three people aboard a boat that erupted in flames Saturday morning in the Great South Bay.
Police say the vessel caught fire about a mile from Timber Point. When officers responded, they found that everyone on board had already evacuated to a nearby boat.
The Suffolk Marine Bureau and multiple fire departments worked to put out the flames.
No injuries were reported, according to authorities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
