Police say 21-year-old Robert Wong is the man responsible for an armed carjacking early Thursday morning is linked to other robberies.

As News 12 reported, Owen Watstein was sitting in his car in front of Crunch Fitness Gym when Wong showed a gun and told him to get out of the car.

"I didn't fight him or anything else. I just stayed calm and said, 'Here's a car, take the car. You want my wallet? Take my wallet," Watstein says.

Watstein said he got out and Wong stole his BMW, along with his wallet and cellphone.

Nassau police say they quickly responded, but Wong went the wrong way on the Southern State Parkway and then crashed into a guardrail.

"After he got out of the car, he attempted to flee police and resisted arrest. The officers used a Taser to help subdue him and he was placed under arrest," says Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.

Police say Wong also carjacked a car in front of Mulcahey's in Wantagh back on Dec. 21. and is also responsible for two robberies that occurred in September.

The first happened at the Dunkin' Donuts off Old Country Road in Plainview, where police say he showed a gun and stole $100. The second robbery happened six days later, where they say he robbed a 7-Eleven in Stewart Manor.

Wong was arraigned Friday and is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
