Scholarship fund set up for victim of deadly Meadowbrook Parkway crash

Posted: Updated:

A scholarship has been set up to remember one of the victims in a deadly crash on the Meadowbrook Parkway.

Timothy Lafferty, of Syosset, was one of two people killed in a four-car crash on the parkway back in July.

Friends and family were joined by lawmakers at the Oyster Bay Brewing Company Thursday for a fundraiser that raises money for the Timothy J. Lafferty Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is named in his honor and will be awarded to one deserving Syosset High School graduate each year.

His family says the 24-year-old was an incredible athlete, dedicated brother and son.
