Report: Indicted restaurateur gave Mangano free meals
A Nassau restaurant owner who was recently indicted on federal charges gave free meals to the county executive and other top officials, according to a published report.
Newsday reports that Harendra Singh gave Executive Ed Mangano and others free meals and drinks at his establishments.
He's also accused of giving Mangano's wife a six-figure part-time job that his employees say they never saw her perform.
As News 12 has reported, Singh allegedly bribed a Town of Oyster Bay official to get millions of dollars in town-backed loans for his restaurants.
He has pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen federal fraud and bribery charges.
The deputy county executive has denied the allegations of complimentary meals, according to Newsday.
