Jury focuses on Oyster Bay loans in Mangano deliberations
Jurors shifted their focus Wednesday as they deliberated for a fourth day in the federal corruption retrial Ed and Linda Mangano, but they ended the day without a verdict.
At the end of the day Tuesday, the jury asked Judge Joan Azrack for transcripts of testimony from three witnesses related to the loan-backed guarantees by the Town of Oyster Bay to restaurateur Harendra Singh. Those people include former Oyster Bay outside legal counsel Jonathan Sinnreich, former Oyster Bay Deputy Town Supervisor Len Genova, and William Savino, a lawyer from the private firm that once employed Ed Mangano.
The prosecution argues that former Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano exerted political influence over the town to guarantee millions of dollars in loans for Singh, who the prosecution says was bribing Mangano.
No note was sent to the judge Wednesday.
