A pair of Amityville stores seriously damaged in September when a car slammed into them are back in business.
Warren Cohn, owner of Amityville Men's Shop, says "it's fantastic" that his store is back open after being closed for six months while undergoing renovations.
Jeffrey White crashed into his store on Sept. 3 around 3 a.m. He was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and assault in the second degree.
"What I wish happens is that he never gets behind the wheel of another car," Cohn says.
Cohn says the car took out a wall in his store before hitting another wall and coming to a stop.
Mary D'Andrea, owner of Bella Maison, was also forced to close after she says her wall was pushed back.
"My whole front windows, they were gone, and a lot of my product was on the street," D'Andrea says.
White's case is still pending in court. Court records show his next court date is Monday.
News 12 reached out to the driver's attorney, but they have not responded.
